If your abstract is accepted as an oral presentation you will have 15 minutes to present followed by 3-4 minutes for discussion and questions.
AV tips for oral presentations:
each room is equipped with a laptop, data projector, pointer, and lectern microphone.
please ensure any video or audio files embedded in your presentation are also brought with you as separate files
both Mac and PC formats will be fine
screens are 16:10 ratio
please bring a backup copy of your presentation with you in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.
If your abstract is accepted as a poster, you will be required to print a poster. Posters should be no larger than portrait layout A0 (841mm width x 1189mm height). The poster display boards are Velcro compatible and Velcro fixers will be provided to all poster presenters at the conference.
The special session is open to any topic but should be related to the conference theme.
The only limitation is time – the time limit for each presentation is a very strict 6 minutes
There are no rules, but due to the time limit, graphs, tables or equations should be kept to a minimum.
Be creative, here are some suggestions to get you started. Your presentation could include:
no slides or videos
music, dance, song, or any form of communication
poetry (e.g., a haiku on water, a ballad on climate change, a rap version of the Navier-Stokes equations, classical poetry on Darcy’s equation, or a country song on hydrology)
As the special session presentations are only maximum of 6 minutes – no Q and A – the abstract only needs to contain the Title of the presentation, the Authors names and affiliations and a max. 150 word abstract.
