Getting to Rotorua

AIR: Rotorua Airport is the gateway to the Bay of Plenty region for domestic visitors. Operating daily direct flights to and from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown (via Christchurch).

 

BUS: NZ's most popular bus network, InterCity offers regularly scheduled services from Auckland, Wellington and other North Island Centres, including Tauranga, Hamilton, Taupo, Whakatane, Gisborne, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Napier, Hastings and Wanganui.

Getting Around

Rotorua has a compact CBD and a comprehensive public transport system so getting around Rotorua is easy! Options include: 

  • Bay Bus - Operates as a CityRide bus service around Rotorua with 10 different routes to choose from. They also operate a Bayhopper service that operates to and from Tauranga.

  • Rotorua Taxis - A great reliable optoon for getting around the city
